To fix “invalid /etc/resolv.conf” error during cPanel installation you need to edit this file in PuTTY or WHM using ConfigServer Explorer.

Set the DNS server to be used by adding to the file: /etc/resolv.conf :

Steps to set up DNS Server:

  • Login to your WHM (Root)
  • find configserver explorer
  • go inside the directory e.t.c
  • then go to resolution.conf file and add the given line:
nameserver [IP_Address]
nameserver [IP_Address]

[Note: In place of IP_Address write the real IP resolver. For ex. nameserver]
